The SSFA have been in contact with the Sutherland Shire Netball Associa-tion (SSNA) and will work closely to minimise the impact on players that currently enjoy playing both codes.

Message from Gear Steward

Don't forget, the keeper's jersey, manager's vest, training vests and gear bag were a loan, not a gift.
Please return them in a clean condi-tion, with a note indicating which team they were used by to: the gear
room, the canteen or to 23 Kirrawee Ave, Kirrawee at the end of your season.
Please don't make the Gear Steward, yes you know, the grumpy one, come looking for you!

Ground Control and Ref Abuse

The Association have again re-iterated that these are the two main problems they are seeing this year. If you are on ground control please make sure to have Orange vested people around the fields and that there is also one near the ground con-trol area.

Changes to 2011

The association has been studying the imbalance between Sat and Sun field usage and have come up with the proposition to move the U12W to U18W games to Saturday and the U21 Boys to Sunday. We will be vot-ing on this within the next month. If anyone has an opinion on this please send them to me, so the committee can decide on our position. If the main concern you have is Netball, the association has informed me that they have been in discussion with the Net-ball Association and that there are plans to ensure that the Netball and Soccer will not clash - i.e. Netball to play early Sat - girls Soccer to play late Sat. There are many pros and cons to this debate so please let us know of your concerns.

Wet Weather

During the week the Council closes fields if they deem them unsafe. Coaches and Managers are receiving SMS and email notifications as soon as we have them. If you are unsure ring the Council line on 9710 0105. On the weekend the Association 'makes the call' by 8am and we again funnel this information to the teams as quickly as possible. The rule is - games are ON until you hear other-wise.

Club Meeting

Monday 21st June is the last Club meeting before the AGM in July. We always need new people to enter the committee to keep our Club running, so feel free to come along in June to see what we do and see if you can fit in for next year‟s committee.

Wet Weather Procedures

  • Match Days - if matches have been cancelled due to wet weather :
    • Your team manager or coach will contact you;
    • Please try not to call them as it will delay them updating the rest of the team.

  • Training Nights - During wet weather if Sutherland Shire Council closes the grounds, no training is permitted.
  • Council officers may fine offending Clubs up to $2,000 if any team is training on a ground when it is closed.
  • Your coach or manager will contact you to inform you if training has been cancelled.
